Biography
Hi, I’m Salim Baktash. I’m a backend engineer, and I’ve spent my career building the systems that run quietly behind the apps people use every day: the databases, servers, and logic that make a platform actually work.
For several years I led the backend team at Jobs.af, one of Afghanistan’s best-known job platforms. My biggest project there was building its AI-powered matching system, which reads applicant profiles and job postings and connects the right people to the right roles. Working on it taught me that good engineering is about more than writing clever code. It means understanding real users, real data, and real problems, and then building something that holds up when thousands of people depend on it.
From 2024 to 2026 I worked as a Senior Backend Developer at Netlinks Inc, building and maintaining production systems for clients. Today I’m a Team Lead at OXUS Afghanistan, and I’m also Co-founder and CTO of FoundrOS, Afghanistan’s first startup operating system. At FoundrOS, I lead the technical build of tools for Afghan founders, including a co-founder marketplace, mentorship and perks systems, and an AI pitch deck builder.
